  •

  • Fully complete the registration form to have your volunteer opportunities displayed on-line. Remeber that the more detail you put into the opportunitiy registration form the better chance your organisation has of suitable volunteers expressing interest in the opportunity. You can view your opportunities HERE (Ensure you select South Tipperary from the Volunteer Centre dropdown and the category your filed the opportunity under in the Category dropdown.)

  • #5 - The Referral / Selection Process
  • Ideally before you put your volunteer opportunities on-line but definitely before you instigate contact with potential volunteers your organisation should have in place a transparent selection process. This can range for basic application forms to Garda Vetting and formal or informal interviews. The STVC acts as a conduit between the organisation and potential volunteers. We do not screen or select volunteers on behalf of the organisation and will on receiving permission from all volunteers interested in a particular opportunity refer them to the organisation seeking volunteers. It is at this point that the requesting organisation will use their pre-defined selection process to select the best fit potential volunteers for the opportunity.

  • #6 - Placement follow-up
  •
  • The Placement officer from the STVC will follow up with the organisation and volunteer on placement progress within 12 weeks of the placement commencing. This timeline can be changed at any time by the volunteer or organisation and will be facilitated by the Placement Officer. From early in the process both the organisation and volunteer will have the contact details of the Placement Officer and they are encouraged to contact the Placement Officer at the earliest time issues that have the potential to have a negative impact on the volunteer or organisation arise. Time intervention and facilitation of issues by the stafff of STVC have historically resulted in the timely resolution of issues that rarely arise between organisation or volunteers.
